The story behind Carnyx

A carnyx is an ancient war horn, and I liked the idea of building a dance record around a sound made to be heard across a valley.

The main motif is brassy and slightly harsh on purpose, cutting through drums that stay tight and tribal.

It is one of the more confrontational things I have released, the point where afro house energy and old instruments meet without softening each other.
