The story behind Magic Sunset

Magic Sunset is my most openly emotional record from that first year. It was written fast, in one of those sessions where you are mostly just trying not to interrupt yourself.

The lead melody rises and falls like light going down, and I left a lot of air in the mix so the reverb can do the work of a horizon.

In a set it works as the moment everyone stops talking, that stretch of the evening where organic house stops being background and becomes the room.
